Greetings Family and Friends,
We arrived safe and on time Tuesday morning as scheduled. It's been non-stop, however, since then. We haven't even had time to adjust to the time difference and the jetlag. When my clock went off this morning at 7AM (really 3AM home time) I wanted to cry. But once we all got up and had breakfast it was Hallelujah time! We did money exchange today, visited the orphanage and presented your gifts to the children, visited the 52 acre Word Alive Missions. We had a wonderful lunch at the beach where we spent last night and tonight and then headed out to worship with our brothers and sisters far west of Accra, where Pastor Peace started a church about 10 years ago. We learned tonight that when Pastor Peace started this church he and his team of young pastor met with great opposition from the tribal folk who were practicing witchcraft and did not want the people to learn about the One True God! He was arrested and spent time in jail because he would not deny the God he loves by closing the church. He has such a powerful testimony I can not thank God enough for allowing our paths to cross. After a day of much moving around on long dusty roads, we arrived at the church at about 9PM and the folks were estactic to see us. We had great praise and worship and many tears were shed as church full of people ministered to us more than we could ever minister to them.
Tomorrow (actually in a few hours) we leave for Kumasi and the pastor's conference where we will be for 3 days. Everyone is sooooooo grateful for our small sacrafice -- it makes us want to do more.
Since I only paid for 30 minutes to use the internet I will end now and upload a few pictures. PLEASE pray for all of here and the work that God has prepared for us to do. One of us will blog again as soon as we have 30 minutes of free time to do so!
Blessings and Peace,
Pastor Stevens
